This year astronauts launched from KSC for the first time since 2011. These patches celebrate the NASA/SpaceX DM-2 Crew Dragon flight to the ISS.

In 2011 the STS-135 crew left a U.S. Flag on board the ISS with a challenge to the next crew launched from KSC to retrieve and return to Earth. 

The Crew Dragon DM-2 crew accomplished this and splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico on August 2nd.
