U.S. Coin Set Pays Tribute to Last Manned Mission to the Moon

When Apollo 17’s lunar lander blasted off from the surface of the moon on December 14, 1972, it marked the last time humans set foot on the moon.

Now you can own a 1972 set of circulating coins, struck the same year as Apollo 17. Each set contains a Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter and Kennedy Half Dollar, all in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition and all housed in a clear holder with custom insert card.

As a special bonus, you’ll also receive a special Apollo 17 replica mission patch. The patch shows an image of Apollo modeled after the marble statue of Apollo displayed in the Vatican Gallery in Rome. Behind the head of Apollo is an American Eagle while in the background is a view of space that shows the Moon, the planet Saturn and a spiral galaxy. Around the edge of the patch are the names of Cernan, Schmitt and Command Module Pilot Ronald Evans.

  • POCKET CHANGE FROM THE YEAR MAN LAST SET FOOT ON THE MOON – This set includes a penny, nickel, dime, quarter and half-dollar – all dated 1972, the year man last walked on the moon.

  • LEGAL-TENDER COINS –These coins are all legal tender in the United States.

  • BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED CONDITION – Each coin in this set comes in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition, as sharp and fresh as they day they left the mint nearly 50 years ago!

  • INCREDIBLE ADDED BONUS – As an added bonus, this set also includes a replica of the Apollo 17 mission patch, which is dominated by an image of the god Apollo, the Greek god of the sun.
