Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the moon july 20th 1969 in the landing area "Tranquility Base". Buzz Aldrin followed him a bit later while Mike Collins stayed in orbit "Carrying the fire". Most likely the greatest achievement of mankind in the 20th century. Launched july 16th at Kennedy Space Center the crew made history when they safely returned to earth july 24th and were picked up by the USS Hornet recovery ship. This presentation bears a part of a flown kapton foil of Apollo 11 and comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity plus a fact sheet about Apollo 11. This edition is limited to 50 presentations. The source of this kapton foil which can be seen in numerous photographs on the outside of the Command Module is Dick Williamson, NASA engineer, who was allowed to keep the foil and later resold it.
