Get an inside look at the intense mental and physical preparation and trials astronauts endure in one of the most difficult, yet revered, careers on Earth! This job poses a lot of mystifying questions for those of us who aren’t astronauts, however. What does it take to train to become an astronaut? Are there different kinds of astronauts, and what do they do in space? What does it feel like to launch into outer space?

The answers to all these questions - and then some! - are formatted as an operations manual in an instructional manner so convincing you might just think you’re part of the NASA team, yet digestible enough for any layperson to understand.

Author Dr. Ken MacTaggert is co-editor of the Apollo 11 Flight Journal, NASA’s official record of the mission, and has written about space-related topics for numerous national publications. This expertise and inside knowledge paired with countless photographs, diagrams, illustrations and more result in an outstandingly thorough guide.

Space enthusiasts, aspiring astronauts, and anyone who loves to learn will appreciate this Haynes owners’ workshop manual that describes the astounding human experience of space travel.

The Space Store ships packages every business day. We ship worldwide and use US Postal and UPS. We pass on our discounted US Postal and UPS rates to you. We further have set the International US Postal Rates 20% below that rate, to help with shipping costs. All International shipments may have customs, duties or taxes added, to your order. The recipient of the package is responsible for these costs. Please contact your local customs or Postal Authorities, to know what these fees may be. Some of our products are shipped directly from the supplier to our customers. Depending on the location of the particular supplier, the shipment may take up to ten days. For 'oversized packages' and custom models, ACTUAL SHIPPING charges will apply and NOT what the shopping cart shows for shipping. The cart cannot compute over-sized packages. You will be notified what the shipping options and pricing will be.

CUSTOMS / DUTIES / TAXES
International orders likely will have customs, duties and / or taxes imposed on your shipment, before receiving your package. All of these costs are the customers responsibility. We are required to fill out the forms when we ship your package. We ALWAYS lower the price, near or cost, as to help reduce what may be imposed and charged to our customers.

RETURNS:
Returns are accepted and given full refunds, if the item is returned in the original condition received. Refunds are then authorized and made to the method of payment that was made. Special Orders, such as the Replica Apollo Suit cannot be cancelled, once ordered. Art Prints, Astronaut Suits and Models once shipped, cannot be cancelled. If returned, there is a 15% restocking fee. All orders older than 30 days that are returned for any reason, are also charged a 10% restocking fee.
