was selected as an astronaut candidate by NASA inJune 1987. Before his first flight he flew the Shuttle Avionics IntegrationLaboratory (SAIL) simulator to provide verification and testing of the Shuttleflight software, and later developed crew rescue and integrated operations forInternational Space Station Alpha. In preparation for a long-duration flight onthe Russian Space Station Mir, Foale trained at the Cosmonaut Training Center,Star City, Russia. He also served as Chief of the Astronaut Office ExpeditionCorps. A veteran of five space flights, Foale has logged over 178 days in spaceincluding three space walks totaling 18 hours and 49 minutes. He was a missionspecialist on STS-45, STS-56, STS-63 and STS-103, and served as Flight Engineer2 on Mir 23 and Mir 24 (ascent on STS-84 and return on STS-86). Most recently heserved as Assistant Director (Technical) of the Johnson Space Center. BornJanuary 6, 1957, in Louth, England, but considers Cambridge, England, to be hishometown. is a Hero of the RussianFederation; holds the title of pilot-cosmonaut of the Russian Federation. Born May 13, 1956, in Yurmala, Latvia. He is married to the former Svetlana L.Nosova. The Space Store ships packages every business day. We ship worldwide and use US Postal and UPS. We pass on our discounted US Postal and UPS rates to you. We further have set the International US Postal Rates 20% below that rate, to help with shipping costs.
All International shipments may have customs, duties or taxes added, to your order. The recipient of the package is responsible for these costs. Please contact your local customs or Postal Authorities, to know what these fees may be.
Some of our products are shipped directly from the supplier to our customers. Depending on the location of the particular supplier, the shipment may take up to ten days.
For 'oversized packages' and custom models, ACTUAL SHIPPING charges will apply and NOT what the shopping cart shows for shipping. The cart cannot compute over-sized packages. You will be notified what the shipping options and pricing will be.
CUSTOMS / DUTIES / TAXES
International orders likely will have customs, duties and / or taxes imposed on your shipment, before receiving your package. All of these costs are the customers responsibility. We are required to fill out the forms when we ship your package. We ALWAYS lower the price, near or cost, as to help reduce what may be imposed and charged to our customers.
Returns are accepted and given full refunds, if the item is returned in the original condition received. Refunds are then authorized and made to the method of payment that was made.
Special Orders, such as the Replica Apollo Suit cannot be cancelled, once ordered. Art Prints, Astronaut Suits and Models once shipped, cannot be cancelled. If returned, there is a 15% restocking fee. All orders older than 30 days that are returned for any reason, are also charged a 10% restocking fee.
