Autographed Limited Edition Set of Mercury and Soyuz Lithographs (matching numbered set)
Autographed Limited Editions of Mercury and Soyuz Lithographs (matching numbered set) Only 1500 signed and numbered sets. Includes Apollo-Soyuz Litho.
The Mercury 7 Print: 25" x 35"
The Mercury 7 Print has been hand-signed by the Mercury astronauts: Alan Shepard, John Glenn, Wally Schirra, Deke Slayton, Gordon Cooper, and Scott Carpenter. Wife Betty Grissom signed for Gus. Items with all these signatures are rare indeed, limited to a few old, faded, cracked photos and a few first-day covers, and books worth several thousand dollars. The astronauts all signed in pencil (no autopen, no fading) largely and clearly next to their respective mission patches, which are painted with such detail they seem to fall off the print! Deke Slayton signed above the NASA logo at center.
The Apollo-Soyuz Print: 25" x 35"
In 1975, the historic first linkup of American and Soviet spacecraft took place between an Apollo capsule and a Soviet Soyuz Spacecraft. The crews included the legendary Alexei Leonov, the first man to walk in space, and the late Donald "Deke" Slayton, making his first and only flight, despite being chosen as one of the original Mercury astronauts. Slayton was the Chief Astronaut, grounded because of a medical problem, but requalified for this historic mission. Signatures in pencil by USA Astronauts Deke Slayton and Thomas Stafford. Soviet crewmen Leonov and Valery Kubasov.
Each archival-quality print is hand signed by the astronauts, sequentially numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
