EXPEDITION MISSION 44 PATCH
Expedition 44 was the 44th expedition to the ISS. It commenced with the departure of Soyuz TMA 15M from the ISS with the Expedition 42-43 crew on 11 June 2015, and ended with the departure of Soyuz TMA-16M on 11 September 2015.
The Crew Patch of ISS Expedition 44 depicts the ISS spacecraft in the foreground with the sun, Earth and Cosmos in the background to symbolize the science subjects of ISS. The 12 Earths around the sun represent the planet’s position over the course of one year in reference to the first year long mission to ISS performed by Scott Kelly and Mikhail Kornienko.
