This 3D Asteroid Model Set was previously included in the Space & Beyond Box and features 3D printed replicas of unusual asteroids Kleopatra, Eros, and Arrokoth along with a few fun facts about each. 216 Kleopatra (3.5cm x 1.51cm x 1.31cm) -Shaped like a dog bone and about the size of the state of New Jersey, Kleopatra is a strange asteroid. Astronomers believe it's mostly made of nickel and iron, but the asteroid isn't even completely solid; instead, its surface is a loosely consolidated rubble pile. Kleopatra orbits in the main asteroid belt, between Mars and Jupiter. 433 Eros (3.5cm x 1.81cm x 1.28cm) -Named after the Greek god of love, Eros was the first asteroid to be orbited by a spacecraft. Eros is an S-type asteroid, the most common type of asteroid in the inner asteroid belt. When the NEAR Shoemaker spacecraft studied Eros, astronomers found that the asteroid is much smaller than they had predicted. It has two medium-sized craters and a density similar to Earth's crust. It orbits in the inner solar system, not far from Earth. 486958 Arrokoth (3.5cm x 1.96cm x 1.0cm) -When New Horizons flew by Arrokoth on January 1, 2019, the spacecraft recorded a very red and unusually shaped asteroid in the Kuiper Belt, far out in a distant solar system. Described by son as a "flattened snowman," Arrokoth has a shape that surprised astronomers when they got their first close-up look at the asteroid. The word Arrokoth means "sky" in the Powhatan/Algonquian language.

The Space Store ships packages every business day. We ship worldwide and use US Postal and UPS. We pass on our discounted US Postal and UPS rates to you. We further have set the International US Postal Rates 20% below that rate, to help with shipping costs. All International shipments may have customs, duties or taxes added, to your order. The recipient of the package is responsible for these costs. Please contact your local customs or Postal Authorities, to know what these fees may be. Some of our products are shipped directly from the supplier to our customers. Depending on the location of the particular supplier, the shipment may take up to ten days. For 'oversized packages' and custom models, ACTUAL SHIPPING charges will apply and NOT what the shopping cart shows for shipping. The cart cannot compute over-sized packages. You will be notified what the shipping options and pricing will be.

CUSTOMS / DUTIES / TAXES
International orders likely will have customs, duties and / or taxes imposed on your shipment, before receiving your package. All of these costs are the customers responsibility. We are required to fill out the forms when we ship your package. We ALWAYS lower the price, near or cost, as to help reduce what may be imposed and charged to our customers.
