Mercury MA-9 "Faith 7" Flown Heatshield Fragment

Mercury Faith 7 was the last manned Mercury mission piloted by Gordon Cooper. Launched May 15th 1963 Cooper became the first American to sleep in orbit.

The source of this heatshield fragment was a larger block of heatshield encased into lucite as a presentation piece given to VIP's and NASA workers as recognition for their work in the space program.
