Get to know the solar system's second largest moon with this stunning 12" desktop globe. Astronomy magazine is proud to unveil the all-new Titan Globe - available exclusively through MyScienceShop.com.  Developed by the staff of Astronomy magazine using a combined mosaic produced by researchers including Stéphane Le Mouélic, Benoit Seignovert, Eric Karkoschka, Virginia Pasek, and Emily C.S. Joseph, this globe was produced using images from Cassini's Visual and Infrared Mapping Spectrometer and it's Imaging Science Subsystem. When the Cassini spacecraft launched in 1997, it brought with it the European Space Agency's Huygens lander, which became the first lander to touch down on a world in the outer solar system upon arrival at Titan.  This alien world sports a dense, nitrogen-rich atmosphere, as well as other Earth-like features like seasonal rains and vast liquid seas - though the seas are filled with liquid methane and ethane rather than water.  This richly detailed, injection-molded 12" desktop globe shows 180 of Titan's most notable named surface features, as well as the Huygens' landing site.  Among these features, you'll find montes (mountain ranges or mountains), colles (small, hill-like features), fluctÅ«s (areas of flow terrain), maria (large hydrocarbon seas), lacÅ«s (seasonal lakes), and flumina (channel-like features).   Each globe is made of long-lasting durable plastic with just a single seam between hemispheres and comes with a clear acrylic display base and informational flyer.

The Space Store ships packages every business day. We ship worldwide and use US Postal and UPS. We pass on our discounted US Postal and UPS rates to you. We further have set the International US Postal Rates 20% below that rate, to help with shipping costs. All International shipments may have customs, duties or taxes added, to your order. The recipient of the package is responsible for these costs. Please contact your local customs or Postal Authorities, to know what these fees may be. Some of our products are shipped directly from the supplier to our customers. Depending on the location of the particular supplier, the shipment may take up to ten days. For 'oversized packages' and custom models, ACTUAL SHIPPING charges will apply and NOT what the shopping cart shows for shipping. The cart cannot compute over-sized packages. You will be notified what the shipping options and pricing will be.

CUSTOMS / DUTIES / TAXES
International orders likely will have customs, duties and / or taxes imposed on your shipment, before receiving your package. All of these costs are the customers responsibility. We are required to fill out the forms when we ship your package. We ALWAYS lower the price, near or cost, as to help reduce what may be imposed and charged to our customers.
